UPCOMING ARTISTES SHOULD HAVE RADIO VERSION OF THEIR SONGS - BOLABAD

What prompted you into becoming a media personality?

The idea of impacting people, I watched the likes of Funmi Iyanda, Denrele Edun, growing up, Funmi was changing lives and Denrele was pretty entertaining, I liked both ideas, became drown to it and I just knew I wanted to do what they were doing. So I started reading, writing, watching entertainment shows to keep up with trends, and presented make believe shows in front of the standing mirror in my daddy’s room.

How has the journey been so far?

A rollercoaster, I must say. There are days I really doubt myself. Sometimes I ask who gave me the passion..lol… but in all, it has been an amazing, wonderful and fulfilling experience.

What kind of show do you present?

Right now I do mostly music shows, spiced with tips; like health, business, kitchen. I also do celebrity interviews and newscasting.

How do you relate with your listeners/fans?

My fans are like the most amazing, the hype I get when I meet them in person or even when they call into my show when I am on-air and when I am not is incredible. It makes me feel like I’m doing something good and I appreciate them for that always.

What is your experience with music promotion and artists?

My experience with them has been cool mostly, we as on-air personalities do our best to promote the artists as much as we can, but some up and coming artists really need to chill and learn professionalism, some will bomb your dms, and when you eventually give them your mail to forward their songs, they send the explicit version, expecting you to clean the song for them. And when you don’t play the songs, you become a bad person that does not want them to blow.
