Flourish Music announces the release of their debut single, “For My Good,” written by Spencer Roth, Tyler Daniel, Jonathan Hunt, Josh Reynolds and Michael Guillot, who also produced it. In addition to this single, Flourish Music will be releasing two additional singles this summer, “Crown Him” on May 14 and “Majestic” on June 18.
Flourish Music is a collective of like-minded worship leaders and songwriters who are equipping the local church with meaningful and creative Gospel-centered songs. The unique artists making up Flourish Music gather collectively to write and produce music that is meant to be sung by the local church and also stands out in the modern worship music genre.
Flourish exists because this world is starved for beauty and often drowning in isolation. They love to come alongside artists and encourage them to create beauty through their art. They also desire to see artists collaborate together and use their art as a blessing for others. Communities are better when artists thrive; and artists are better when they create in community. Flourish wants to see both of these things happen.
“For My Good” was written as a response to Romans 8:37-39 where Paul reminds us that there is nothing that will separate us from the love of God in Christ: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
This song is a present-day reminder that God is working all things for good and for His glory — which is ultimately for our good. This anthem ends with a declaration that says: “I will not grow weary / You are always with me / You are good”
Tyler Daniel, Co-writer and Worship Leader at The Well, shared that when he led “For My Good” at his church, “It reminds people of God’s deep love for us in Christ. The declaration in Romans that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ includes our anxieties, our weakness and impatience, but it doesn’t stop there. Not only are we loved, chosen and forgiven, but the old us is gone and it is now Christ who lives in us by the power of the Spirit!”
Jordan Elder, Pastor of Redeemer Round Rock, said, “In this pandemic-plagued, racially divided, politicized time many people are weary. As a pastor, I have battled weariness in my own life during this season. ‘For My Good’ has been a song that God has used to anchor my soul and stir my heart with the truth that ‘nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord’ (Romans 8). Sing this song because it’s true, and truth sets you free.”
Flourish Music hopes that “For My Good” is a song that the church can sing and cling onto in this day and age when the world feels like it is spinning out of control. They hope the memorable melody and needed gospel truth resonates with church families and reminds them that God is working for our good, even when it may not feel like it.
