The EURO 2020 match between Denmark and Finland today was called off during the first half after former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch.
I am not going to relay details of what happened. There will be no speculation. This article is not being promoted on social media. This is for our community to process what happened. It is a horrible tragedy and we don’t yet know if he is okay. He did not look okay
If you pray, please pray for Christian, his wife, and his young family. Pray for his friends and teammates. Pray for the rest of the Denmark squad, and the Finland team whom they were playing. If you don’t pray, turn the TV off, go outside, and do something nice for someone who is not yourself. Show the world that our humanity can overcome even the worst tragedy.
Be kind to yourselves. Be kind to others. Remember Fabrice Muamba and that hope can come out of tragedy. And don’t watch another minute of football today.
