Starlight is Streatham, South London superstar Dave’s first single of 2022 and the first release since the drop of his number one sophomore studio album We’re All Alone In This Together, released in July 2021.

He first teased the track during an Instagram Live on February 12, 2022, where he also showcased the production of an instrumental he has been working on. This quickly became viral with fans demanding it is released. Dave posted the trailer on March 1st, 2022, alongside the title and the March 8th, 2022 release date, in the midst of the second day of his London O2 W.A.A.I.T.T Headline tour.
