Smino reunites with J.Cole for his “90 Proof”, the latest single off his forthcoming album, Luv 4 Rent.
Over soul-sampled loop, Smino laces the track with his melodic hook, while J.Cole brings another superior guest verse. “I heard that you blowing up fast, but I think it’s better to slowly erupt.”, Cole raps. “The money was burning a hole in my pocket, the ninety done burned a lil’ hole in my gut / We walked in the function, that dawg got to bumping / My dawg got to rushing like a Soviet pup.”
“90 Proof” follows Smino’s, “24-8“, the previous single inspired by Kobe Bryant. This year, Smino has also appeared on albums from the likes of Saba, Lucky Daye, Syd, and more.
